Adventure Tour 2013

The  special 2013 Adventure Tour is designed to maximize usage of our unique Underground Classroom.  Students will work at a fossil dig, carefully uncovering and identifying different fossils.  They will answer questions about the animal’s history of survival and demise. The same questions apply to living cave creatures, so the second step is to follow the boardwalk trail into a non-toured part of the cave.  The students are equipped with lanterns to find their way to a “window” in the floor where they’ll have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of a cave crayfish or maybe even a blind cavefish.

Plus, it all take place in the cave's Underground Classroom where it's always a warm 60 degrees regardless of the weather outside.  Adventure Tour 2013 includes the all-riding tour of the caverns.

Adventure Tour 2013 is a special, 90-minute, "touchable" educational experience designed for students in grades 1-8.  Students are encouraged to wear "after school" clothes.  All activities take place inside the caverns where it's always a Warm 60°.

This 90-minute program is available at 10:00 am & 12:00 noon DAILY from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2013.

The 2013 Adventure Tour qualifies for the Student Recycling Discount!  When students bring an aluminum can for recycling, the rate for student tickets will be further reduced by .50-cents, making the 2013 Recycling Discount Rate $5.50 per student Grades K-8.

SUMMER DISCOVERY 2013

Exciting & Challenging Summer Program for 2013

The 2013 SUMMER DISCOVERY PROGRAM is designed with children's groups, scouts and summer school in mind.  This unique, specialty program takes place at the Outdoor Classroom located near the cavern entrance.  Visiting children's groups will have a chance to pan for minerals at a giant sluicing operation.  After discovering their specimens (Treasure!), students will work to identify and classify their finds at the learning center.  This 90-minute program is designed to be a very touchable experience and includes the all-riding educational tour through the caverns.

The 90-minute special program, SUMMER DISCOVERY, is available 6/1/2013 - 8/31/2013.
